Power BI for Human Resources

In my last blog, we discussed how Power Bi Consulting is convenient in handling huge amounts of data for the marketing field. Another field where there is exhaustive data can be Human Resources!! There are unlimited excel sheets of data for who we hire, locations, qualifications, gender, experience, certifications…. Phew! Comes their compensations and benefits Then, training and development, leaves, terminations! Any HR Generalists would appreciate a device that manages and connects this data with relief. And there comes our Power Bi tool!

Let’s consider Recruitment. As discussed in my last blog, since the methods are standard, all you have to do can be, get the data from the sources. Once this data is connected by you, all the HR dashboards shall be shown, where the names can be got by you of the new employs, numbers, metrics of last year, changes in the hiring pattern, year on year changes in the form of percentages for a full week, month, annual basis.

In the new hires themselves, there will be charts available for gender, location, age group, area, ethnicity, country-specific. This data can be compared by you by various bar/collection/combined graphs, charts, etc.

You can also get a count and comparison for reason for hiring/ rejecting/ putting an applicant on hold, this by gender again, age, region, country wise. Bi also provides Q&A and suggestions for the same on the charged power bi dashboard. By selecting these suggestions, for example, how many candidates did we hire this year based on their qualifications and age, and what was the good reason they were preferred over others. Today, this becomes convenient and interesting when you want to plan the HR budget for the coming year, and based on earlier year metrics, you can predict requirements for the arriving year.

Power Bi saves your time, energy, and money in these never-ending and cyclical procedures. Hence, you are given an advantage over your competitors!

Let’s discover how Power Bi is useful for other Human resources features in my next blog.
